Dada and Fluxus

Dada is a European avant-garde art movement of the 20th century. Formed because of the horrors of World War I, the movement valued nonsense and irrationality. Dada was based on anti-war politics and was adamant about rejecting existing art standards. Dada laid the groundwork for abstract art and Fluxus. Fluxus is Latin word meaning "flow". It's a network of artists who combine different art styles and media from the 1960s. The movement is based on "anti-art" ideals, it continues to push the limits and definitions of art today.
