Postmodernism = Us becoming the media

This line struck me: "For us, postmodernism is the explanation of how society has become consumed by mass media; how we are 'becoming' the media."

I do not really agree with the idea that postmodernism is all about being consumed by media. A show done completely with flashlights and no other lights can be considered post modern. However, that would be considered the absence of digital media and thus might still reflect our consumption with media.

Perhaps, it is not so much about the presence of digital media as it is the awareness of digital media.
