It was interesting reading about the history of these light shows and how in the past, at times, the artists were using up to 30 projectors to make their shows come alive on the screen. On McKay’s site, the Millennium Paintings especially caught my attention because in them I see possibilities for merging meditative moving images with sound to create calming environments in various public spaces. Specifically, as of now, I’m interested in the possibilities of creating calming or meditative spaces within hospitals that use videos of transitioning colors and forms in conjunction with sound to create live dreamscapes that manifest before the viewer’s eyes. I am interested in learning about the effects that various colors and images have on people in this sort of environment.
